I like to cook! I have always been involved in making and creating food from as far back as I remember. My mother is an amazing baker and cook and I have grown up eating anything from hearty slow cooked meat dishes to homemade apple strudel. My mums native country is Germany but my parents have a house in Italy so whenever we go over to theirs for lunch or supper we are always treated to an eclectic mixture of foods.

Before having children I decided they too would love to be in the kitchen like me but little did I know that parenting is not at all what you expect. My 8 year old son Charlie loves eating anything and everything but doesn't share my passion for culinary creativity whilst my 5 year daughter Poppy loves getting stuck in. She, however, is not as keen on eating things which don't contain sugar!

Anyone can cook its all about taste, smell and not being afraid to just have a go. I always say to people "what is the worst that can happen". I know lots of people who are too scared to even try and deviate from a recipe in case it goes wrong. I have had plenty of things go wrong, however, they are usually perfectly edible.

I am visually impaired and in some areas of life things can be a bit more a challenge but the kitchen is a leveller you don't have to be able to see miles to be a great cook!

My main focus in the kitchen is on delicious family food which is easy to prepare yet is still full of flavour.
