What’s with the salad bowl thing? Is it a hipster thing? We have breakfast bowls, Thai soup bowls, Açai bowls, smoothie bowls. Are they not just the vessel you stick your food in to eat with nicely arrange food stuff? Think I am behind the times!!! So, here we go in an attempt to be on trend i have decided we are having salad bowls for our supper tonight!!

Let’s keep our fingers crossed the warmer weather lasts and we can get to eat lots of salads.

I think a dressing can make a salad – if you get it just right the results can be delish. I love slightly sweet and sour flavours so I went citrus with this

1 lime zest and juice.

1 orange zest and juice

1 tablespoon agave

10 tablespoons olive oil

1 chopped red chilli

1 teaspoon crushed garlic

A few grinds of salt

Bung it in a jam jar and shake well

For my salady part – just use stuff you have in. So we have

Half a red cabbage

1 can Cannellini beans

Oven roasted tomatoes (cut tomatoes in half, drizzle with olive oil and herbs with some salt – bung in the oven for 45 mins at 200 degrees C)

Griddled halloumi

Samphire

Olives

Drizzle the dressing all over.

And then some falafels on the side.
