What is it with me and brownies – I can’t stop baking them. I think it’s because everyone loves chocolatey treats and gets so much enjoyment from eating something “naughty”. Poppy was at a friends house for a play date so I thought I would whip up a little thank you present with a few extras for home of course! I like the texture of having a bit of something slightly chewy/ crunchy inside – hence the maltesers!
- 250g dark chocolate
- 1 sharing bag of Maltesers & 1 regular bag for decorating
- 75g white chocolate for drizzling
- 100g chocolate chips
- 350g unsalted butter
- 6 medium eggs
- 150g plain flour
- 80g cocoa powder
- 500g light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon golden syrup
Preheat oven to 180 degrees centigrade
Melt the butter and chocolate and leave to one side
Place all ingredients apart from the white choco and crunchies in a bowl and mix.
Gradually mix in the chocolate mixture. Mix well.
Add about the large bag of Maltesers leaving one small bag behind
Pour the mixture into a lined baking or brownie tin!
Put in the oven for 30 mins then keep checking until a skewer comes out clean
Once cooled Drizzle with white choc and chop up the Maltesers sprinkling on top. Once the choc has hardened cut in to slices
