There  is nothing better on a cold winters day than sitting down in front of a fire with a steaming cup of tea and some cake. So that is what has been going on today. I have been thumbing through all the supermarket Christmas food magazines and trying to stay warm.

Once you have made these brownies they will become a firm favourite and never will you buy the supermarket poor mans substitute ones!!

50g milk chocolate chips

3 eggs

275g dark brown  sugar

85g unsalted melted butter

185g best dark chocolate melted

100g walnut halves

85g plain flour

40g cocoa powder

50g white chocolate chips

Handful of pretzels

Salted caramel sauce – either buy it or use one of my previous recipes

Preheat oven to 170 degrees centigrade

Couldn’t be easier add all ingredients apart from pretzels into a bowl and mix by hand or in a stand mixer or by hand.

Pour out in to a lined 20cm square brownie pan.

Place in the oven for 25 mins

Once cool spread the salted caramel on top and put pretzels in rows

Leave to cool and cut in to squares.
