I had nothing for my kidlets to eat after school today, I prefer giving them something homemade rather than a chocolate bar.
My little Apple tartlets are amazing! They literally take 2 minutes to make and taste delish . Little ones of all ages can make these easily too. If you get panic attacks about the mess your kids make in the kitchen cooking, do not fear for this one involves zilch chaos!
You have the lovely puff pastry, tangy apple and salty sweet thing going on.
4 red apples
1 ready roll puff pastry
50g butter or dairy free spread
1 tablespoon Demerara
Large pinch of salt
6 finely chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 170 degrees centigrade
Lay the puff pastry out flat and use a cookie cutter to cut into 7 circles
Place each circle on a lined baking tray
Then get a sharp knife and and cut a V shape with the point facing into the circle and pull it a little to look like a stalk
De-core an apple, half it and cut fine slices.
Lay them fanned out on the circle.
Place bits of butter in between some of the slices. Sprinkle with some sugar and a tiny bit of salt
Chuck on the pecans
Repeat, for each one
Place in the oven for 10 minutes.
