So it’s the start of the festive season in this house – lots of asking Alexa to play Christmas songs, silly dancing and eating  nice food. We are having a family afternoon, playing games and sitting round the fire. I feel like I am re-enacting a Victorian Christmas scene!

Mug cakes are such a quick, fun and easy thing for children to do. No measuring using scales, just spoons. And instant results.

It’s surprising how amazing these taste. If you eat it hot they are even more stunning. I could imagine coming in after a few drinks and whipping up one of these beauties!

I had to scoop it out of the mug as this was far too much for one child and they both didn’t want to share due to cross contamination – apparently Poppy is gross according to her brother! Merry Christmas!!!!!!

4 tbsp self-raising flour

4 tbsp sugar

3 tbsp sunflower oil

1 teaspoon pure mint extract

2 tbsp cocoa powder

1 egg

3 tbsp milk

6 chunks  white chocolate cut in to pieces

Pinch salt

Grab yourself a rather large mug as this can over spill if you are not careful.

Add each ingredient one by one and give it a really good stir

Place in the middle of the microwave and cook on full power for 2 minutes

Decorate and serve hot.
