I think we are on the 2nd week of the holidays, although it feels like 20th!!! It’s tricky keeping the kids occupied and I am not doing a trip out every day. If I let them screen time would dominate their lives and they would just fall into a device induced coma by the end of the day.
Both like pottering around in the kitchen, although not healthy this fudge recipe is right up there with the kids as more time is spent licking the bowl and spoon than actually making it.
Give it a go with your smalls – but be prepared for a sugar rush at the end!

Top tip
- Substitute maltesers with you confectionary of choice.
- Decorate however you wish
- These are great to give as teachers gifts at the end of term – always go down a treat
- I suggest storing in the fridge
400g dark chocolate
397g Condensed Milk
200 g Maltesers
1 teaspoon bean vanilla extract
Large pinch salt
Grab yourself a large bowl and place all the chocolate and condensed milk.
Place in the microwave on high for 2 minutes and then do in 10 second bursts until all is melted
Add the vanilla and salt. Mix well and add half the maltesers – mix them in.
Line a baking tin with parchment and pour the mixture in, then sprinkle the remaining maltesers on top and place in the fridge for at least 6 hours
Remove and slice into squares and then enjoy.
