These biscuits taste A-mazing but then anything with such a high butter content by all rights should!!
I totally recommend these for a cold, cosy afternoon at home with the kids. We have loads of cookie cutters and the children love choosing the right one, rolling out the dough and pressing them to get the desired shape.
You could make these for any time of year, rabbit shapes at Easter etc.
I would say, keep an eye on these beauties when they are in the oven, you want just cooked rather than over done!
250g butter
300g plain flour
100g sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Large pinch of salt
Preheat oven to 180 degrees centigrade
Grab your mixer or a big bowl. Bung all ingredients in together and stir well until a dough ball is formed
Flour a surface and roll your pastry until 1cm thick
Cut into desired shapes
Cook for 8 -10 mins until going golden at the edges
Take out of the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack
Once cool dust with icing sugar
