These biscuits taste A-mazing but then anything with such a high butter content by all rights should!!

I totally recommend these for a cold, cosy afternoon at home with the kids. We have loads of cookie cutters and the children love choosing the right one, rolling out the dough and pressing them to get the desired shape.

You could make these for any time of year, rabbit shapes at Easter etc.

I would say, keep an eye on these beauties when they are in the oven, you want just cooked rather than over done!

250g butter

300g plain flour

100g sugar

1 egg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Large pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 180 degrees centigrade

Grab your mixer or a big bowl. Bung all ingredients in together and stir well until a dough ball is formed

Flour a surface and roll your pastry until 1cm thick

Cut into desired shapes

Cook for 8 -10 mins until going golden at the edges

Take out of the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack

Once cool dust with icing sugar
